Benjamin and Amelia had been traveling for days, and they were finally nearing their destination. They had heard stories of a dangerous river crossing that they would have to make in order to reach their destination.
The river was wide and fast-moving, and the only way to cross it was by a rope bridge. Benjamin and Amelia looked at the bridge nervously. It was made of rope and wood, and it swayed in the wind.
Benjamin was the first to cross. He stepped onto the bridge and began to walk slowly across. The bridge swayed beneath him, and he had to concentrate to keep his balance. He made it halfway across before the bridge began to shake violently.
Amelia watched in horror as Benjamin struggled to keep his balance. She shouted for him to come back, but he was too far away. Suddenly, the bridge snapped and Benjamin fell into the river below.
Amelia screamed in terror and ran to the edge of the river. She could see Benjamin struggling to stay afloat in the fast-moving water. She quickly grabbed a nearby rope and threw it to Benjamin. He grabbed it and she pulled him to safety.
Once Benjamin was safe, Amelia collapsed onto the ground in relief. She had been so scared that she had almost lost him. They both knew that they had been lucky to make it across the river alive.
From then on, Benjamin and Amelia were extra careful when crossing rivers. They knew that one wrong move could cost them their lives.
