Part 1: Time: 827 Years Ago - The Origin of the Curse The 827-Year-Old Curse of Katsina

827 years ago, in the ancient kingdom of Katsina, there lived a powerful and wise king. He was beloved by his people and ruled with justice and fairness. But one day, a mysterious stranger appeared in the kingdom and presented the king with a strange gift: a golden necklace with a large, glowing gemstone.

The stranger warned the king that the necklace was cursed and that if he wore it, he would be cursed with a terrible fate. The king, however, was too proud to believe the stranger and refused to take off the necklace.

Soon after, the kingdom began to suffer from a series of disasters. Crops failed, livestock died, and the people began to starve. The king, desperate to save his people, consulted with the wise men of the kingdom. They told him that the only way to break the curse was to find the source of the curse and destroy it.

The king set out on a quest to find the source of the curse and eventually discovered a hidden temple deep in the forest. Inside the temple, he found a powerful witch who had cursed the necklace. The witch told the king that the only way to break the curse was to give her a sacrifice.

The king, unwilling to sacrifice any of his people, offered himself as the sacrifice. The witch accepted and the curse was broken. The kingdom was saved and the people rejoiced.

But the witch had one final warning for the king: the curse would return in 827 years. The king, knowing that he would not be alive to witness the return of the curse, ordered that a temple be built in his honor and that a festival be held every year to remember the curse and the sacrifice he made to save his people.

And so, every year, the people of Katsina gather to celebrate the 827-year-old Curse of Katsina.
