The people of Ile-Ife were in a state of great excitement. After many years of searching, they had finally found the perfect candidate to be their new Oba. His name was Ogunmola and he was a young man of great wisdom and courage.
The people of Ile-Ife gathered to celebrate the coronation of their new Oba. The ceremony was conducted with great pomp and circumstance. Ogunmola was dressed in a magnificent robe of royal purple and adorned with a crown of gold. He was presented with a scepter and a staff of office, symbols of his authority.
The people of Ile-Ife cheered and sang as Ogunmola was crowned the new Oba. He was given the title of Oba Ogunmola, the King of Ile-Ife.
The celebration lasted for days and the people of Ile-Ife were filled with joy. They had found their new leader and they were confident that he would bring peace and prosperity to their kingdom.
But little did they know that their joy would soon be replaced by sorrow. For unbeknownst to them, a dark curse had been placed upon the new Oba. A curse that would haunt the kingdom for the next 969 years.
