Part 9: The Oba's Redemption The Curse of the Oba of Ile-Ife: A Tale of 969 Years Ago

The Oba of Ile-Ife had been living in exile for nine hundred and sixty-nine years. He had been cursed by the gods and was unable to return home. He had been living in a small village far away from his beloved kingdom.

One day, the Oba was walking through the village when he heard a voice calling out to him. He looked around and saw a beautiful woman standing in the middle of the village. She was dressed in a white robe and had a crown of gold on her head.

The woman introduced herself as the goddess Oya and told the Oba that she had come to free him from his curse. She told him that if he followed her instructions, he would be able to return home and reclaim his kingdom.

The Oba was overjoyed and followed Oya's instructions. He gathered all of the villagers together and told them of his plan to return home. The villagers were excited and agreed to help him.

The Oba and the villagers built a large boat and sailed back to Ile-Ife. When they arrived, the Oba was welcomed home with open arms. He was finally able to reclaim his kingdom and rule as the rightful Oba of Ile-Ife.

The Oba was so grateful to Oya for freeing him from his curse. He declared that she would be the patron goddess of Ile-Ife and that she would be honored and worshipped by all of the people.

The Oba was finally able to return home and reclaim his kingdom. He was able to restore peace and prosperity to Ile-Ife and the people were able to live in harmony once again. The Oba's redemption was complete and the curse of the Oba of Ile-Ife was finally broken.
